Saint Theresa's Home for Boys, run by the Augustinian Sisters of Mercy of Jesus. The Augustinian Sisters of Mercy of Jesus established themselves in South Africa in 1891. They requested the assistance of the Augustinian friars. In 1997 the Province of Saint Thomas of Villanova (eastern United States) in collaboration with the Province of England and Scotland and the Province of Ireland accepted the request of the sisters and for the first time in history established a community of friars in South Africa.

Augustinian friars staff Our Lady of Mercy Parish in the town of Kloof in Natal. They also serve the impoversihed Zulu community living in Natal's "Valley of a Thousand Hills" in two outstation parishes, Saint Helena's in Edwaleni and Saint Leo's in Emolweni.

Augustinian friars and sisters serve tirelessly in countless ministries in South Africa, helping to battle the extreme poverty and health crises that face the impoverished daily.

Your support can go a long way in helping the Augustinians combat the suffering so many people face in South Africa.

Support the missions through the Richard D. Appicci, O.S.A., Endowment for the Missions.
