January 9 is the anniversary of Frederick F. Commins.

Father Frederick Francis Commins was born in Carthage, NY in 1871. He entered the novitiate at Villanova, PA, in 1891, and five years later, in 1896, he was ordained by Archbishop Ryan.

He taught for many years at Villanova and at The Academy on Staten Island, NY. In 1918 he became rector at St. Denis, Oakmont, PA, where he died on January 9, 1924. He was 53.
