Seculars & Friends

Augustinian Secular Fraternities

“For you have made us for yourself and our hearts are restless until they rest in you.”

— The Confessions of St. Augustine

Augustinian Seculars are lay men and women who bind themselves by formal promises to share in the Augustinian way of life, being of one mind, and one heart, intent upon God. While living and working within the community, Augustinian Seculars live their faith, hope and love through community, following Christ through Augustinian spirituality.

Augustinian Friends

Augustinian Friends are people who wish to delve a bit deeper into Augustinian spirituality, those who look to Saint Augustine as a resource, inspiration and guide for their own spiritual journey.

If you’d like to discover ways you can access Augustinian spirituality and incorporate it into your own faith life, please contact the Director of the Augustinian Friends.

The Legacy of

St. Augustine in the Catholic Church

Augustine was a thoughtful, empathetic, and loving servant of God. He valued community, welcomed others, and treated them the way they deserved to be treated. Augustine also laid the foundation for the Order of St. Augustine. The Order continues to explore ways to care for those in great need both in our Province work throughout Massachusetts, New Jersey, and surrounding states and in our greater missions throughout the world.

We invite you to continue to learn about St. Augustine, his life, and his teachings.

Sign up for our e-newsletter, where we share news and updates on how we continue to follow in St. Augustine’s footsteps.
