St. Thomas Monastery began in the residence of an estate purchased in 1841 and was destined to become a center for Augustinian life. Located on the campus of Villanova University, the monastery currently serves as the residence for over 60 friars.
Extensively renovated after 70 years of continuous occupation, it includes facilities that allow for on-site health care and facilitates the continued residence of those friars requiring assistance and specific medical care.
The renovation of St. Thomas Monastery was made possible though the generosity of donors, as is the continuing care of the friars and the health-care facilities. You can support the Monastery while memorializing a loved one by purchasing a brick to be laid in the Prayer Garden outside the Monastery. Please visit the “Buy a Brick” page to download a form.
