Congratulations to Fr. Robert P. Hagan, O.S.A., who was installed on June 13, 2022, as the new Prior Provincial of the Province of St. Thomas of Villanova! Fr. Rob previously served as Villanova University’s Senior Associate Athletic Director and team chaplain for the Villanova football and men’s basketball programs. He was ordained to the priesthood in September 2003 and is a graduate of Villanova University.
The Installation Mass took place at the St. Thomas of Villanova Church on Villanova’s campus. This celebratory occasion marked the beginning of Fr. Rob’s first four-year term as the province’s 41st provincial. Over 500 people attended the Mass, with 300+ joining us virtually via livestream. In attendance were our Augustinian family from around the world, the Provincial staff, our invaluable donors, and all those associated with the Province.
In his address to the church Fr. Rob proclaimed that, “We come here during this Mass of the Holy Spirit in thanksgiving for all the Augustinians who’ve taken steps all along the way. Not necessarily with the clearest roadmap, but with the Holy Spirit, the helper, the advocate, the comforter, the inspirer. We are part of a team!”
