In the Chulucanas Vicariate (Peru) the coronavirus pandemic is hitting the infected people very hard, but also those families that depend economically on the work carried out day by day. In Chulucanas, the need of the people has increased dramatically. The parish of San José Obrero, through the parish priest, Fr. Rogelio Adrianzen Viera, in coordination with the Bishop, has distributed basic food to the families most in need of help.

In Pacaipampa, a district located in the Sierra de Piura and one of the poorest in the region, the Augustinian friars through the parish priest, P. Falú Benites Montero, managed to arrange for the donation of chickens with the “Técnica-Avícola” of Pacasmayo. The company donated 2,700 chickens, which were distributed in remote areas of the Pacaipampa district.

In Morropón, the Augustinian community, through the parish priest Fr. Gioberty Calle, has collaborated with the increased number of the neediest families so that they receive food baskets from the municipality. Likewise, aid has been brought to the Venezuelan brothers residing in Morropón. On Easter Sunday, a blessing with the Blessed Sacrament was held throughout the city of Morropón. The same was done in the parish of Buenos Aires where Fr. Juan Tyma is the pastor.
